2010 Bass Casting Challenge

Rules & Regulations
This event is an accuracy casting competition that will be held at the 2010 World Fishing & Outdoor Exposition running March 4-7 at the Rockland Community College in Suffern, NY.


Preliminary Round  
  1. The Bass Casting Challenge is a game of skill.  This game of skill will take place at the casting pool.  Registration will be at the New Jersey Bass Federation Booth (# 0706).

  2. The following rules are for the preliminary rounds (Thursday, Friday, Saturday and ending at 12:30pm on Sunday) at the Exposition.

  3. Participation in the preliminary rounds is only during the following hours. The hours are Thursday & Friday 2:30-3:30, 4:30-5:30, 6:30-7:30; Saturday 10:30-11:30, 12:30-1:30, 2:30-3:30, 4:30-5:30; Sunday 11:00-12:30.  The preliminary rounds end at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 7.   See below for description of finals. 

  4. Entry fee is $2.00 per Turn.  Upon registering and paying the $2.00 fee, you are eligible to become a contestant. 
                                                        
  5. A turn consists of three casts made at three different targets.  Contestant may choose the order in which he casts to each target.  There will be one practice cast per target. If the contestant casts the casting plug (using the official Shimano rod and reel), two of three tries completely into each of the three targets (and it stays in the target), the contestant will be entered into the Bass Casting Challenge finals.

  6. A contestant may enter as often as he/she wishes. 

  7. A contestant may begin his cast with an amount of line beyond the tip of his rod only equal to or less than the length of the rod.
Final Round for the 2010 Bass Casting Challenge  
  1. The final round starts at 1:30pm on Sunday, March 7th at the Bass Casting Challenge headquarters (booth 0706). All contestants who qualify for the final round must be at the Bass Casting Challenge headquarters (Booth 0706) no later than 1:30pm.

  2. When a contestant’s name or number has been called, they must be immediately available to step into the casting lane and begin their cast.

  3. In the final round each contestant will be permitted one Turn, which is three (3) casts made at three (3) different targets.  The contestant may choose the order in which he casts to each target.  A score is when the casting plug enters into and stays in the target.

  4. If one contestant has more “scores” than the others, that contestant wins.  If several
    contestants tied with the most “scores” after all finalists have cast one turn, they will be entered into the 2nd round.  A drawing will again be held to determine the order of casting.  After the 2nd round, all finalists with the most “scores” will be entered into the 3rd round.  This process will continue until there is only one contestant remaining.

  5. The last contestant in the final round (whether it is 2nd, 3rd or however many rounds required) will be the winner.  The winner receives a Humminbird 385 ci Combo, second prize is a Humminbird PiranhaMAX 180 and third prize is a Humminbird RF 25 SmartCast.

  6. Contestants must be 14 years or older.

  7. All prizes are non-transferable and must be accepted as awarded.

  8. Employees of ASA/Eastern Fishing & Outdoor Exposition their family members and all seminar speakers, performers, or talent hired by ASA/EFOE for the World Fishing and Outdoor Exposition are not eligible to participate in the casting competition.

  9. Individual event final winners agree that his/her name, film or photographic  image, or voice recording may be used in any future publicity without compensation.

  10. In case of a dispute or interpretation of the rules or operation of any portion, or at any level, of the Bass Casting Challenge, the decisions of show management are final.

  11. At any time, without notice, ASA/Eastern Fishing & Outdoor Exposition, LLC reserves the right to amend or change the contest rules.
