Paul Hebert, the salty-mouthed Captain of the “Wicked Pissah”, is one of the stars on the popular reality show, WICKED TUNA! He is considered one of the most controversial and animated characters. Along with Hebert, the show follows the lives of a group of commercial tuna fishermen fishing out of Gloucester, Massachusetts.
Hebert caught his first bluefin at age 8, using a handline. “It was 1,100 pounds,” he said, mimicking roping in the fish. He is a third-generation fisherman and has been fishing since he was a child: “I grew up doing this. My father was a fisherman, and my five brothers do it. My mother does it. It’s all I know. It’s like growing up on a farm, and knowing about cows. I grew up knowing bluefin."

Wicked Tuna’s Captain Dave Carraro has an invaluable 38 years’ experience fishing the East Coast, Bahamas and Mexico. His specialty is Tuna and Cod fishing which is what he spends most of his time doing although he is no slouch when it comes to stripers and bluefish either.
One of his most recent year’s best was 2015 with 102 giant tuna hooked and 63 landed. To date he has 9 giants over 1,000 pounds and many other years just as close.
The largest bluefin was 11 feet and just over 1,200 pounds!!
Nothing can surpass a proven track record and year after year he continues to get on the fish. Most boats don’t even catch but a few giants in a lifetime.
Not every day of fishing always yields a spectacular catch with some days better than others, but Dave will guarantee you he will give you his best effort to catch as many fish as you possibly can, even if it means staying out longer or traveling further. He is 100% dedicated to giving you a great day!
Dave is also an airline/instructor pilot and currently a Captain at Jetblue Airways, flying over 25 years. He’s checked out as a Captain in several different types of jets, from commercial airliners to corporate jets. As an airline pilot it’s all about safety and professionalism and Dave has incorporated that into a clean, organized and professional fishing operation.

Captain Brian Rice
Captain Brian Rice of Jersey Devil Sportfishing
Using a pair of oars to row a 12-foot aluminum boat, Brian started fishing for snapper blues, weak fish, and other small fish on the Navesink river as a kid. In the late 80s, he graduated to a 16-foot Garvey boat and was bunker chunking for striped bass under the Highlands bridge. After years of overfishing, the striped bass population was just starting to rebuild, and their scarcity enabled Brian to hone his fishing skills and refine his methods. Even catching one a day was a success. Around this time Brian also started trolling for stripers which has helped him develop the techniques he uses today to charter for trophy linesiders.
In the early 90s, Brian started offshore fishing for big game and eventually earned his captain’s license in 2004. He has fished most of the northeast coast and in the Bahamas and Mexico. Brian spends as many weekends as he can on the water chartering offshore trips on his 31’ Contender powered by twin 250 Yamaha four stroke engines. He is a proven tournament winner and captains’ offshore charters that put clients on tuna, mahi, sharks, and even some marlin on the Jersey Coast.
